DEWALT DCD996P2 20V MAX* XR® Cordless 3-Speed Hammer Drill Kit
I use this drill for the 2” and 3” augers mostly! If I’m not doing too many holes, it can handle all the way up to the 5” size. The handle that comes with it is great for stability.
DEWALT DCD130T1 60V MAX* VSR™ Stud and Joist Drill Kit with E-Clutch® System
This drill is AMAZING at handling the 5” auger, all the way up to the largest 9” size. It’s a heavy drill but still completely manageable to use. I highly recommend this one for the larger augers.

Laura’s Edition 2″ x 36″ Auger
The 2” size is my go to for planting starts in 4 and 6 packs, plugs, and bulbs. This ‘Laura Edition” is slightly lighter than the normal 2” but is still just as durable. I prefer the 36” length because it allows me to drill holes standing up and it’s a great back saver.
Laura’s Edition 3″ x 36″ Auger
The 3” auger is perfect for planting annuals and large bulbs. This is my most used auger and this ‘Laura Edition’ is slighter lighter than the normal 3” version while still being just as durable. I prefer the 36” length because it allows me to drill holes standing up.
5″ x 28″ Extended Length Bulb Auger
I use this auger for planting smaller perennials or shrubs that are in .5 gallon up to 1 gallon pots.
9″ x 28″ Extra Large Earth Auger with Heavy Duty Tip
The 9” auger is used a lot around our property. This is great for 3 gallon up to 5 gallon. Honestly, you can use if for even larger containers because you can drill multiple holes and it does a great job loosening the soil so you can easily shovel it out of the hole.
