DEWALT® Drills for Augers

Power Planter offers a selection of DEWALT® drills designed for heavy-duty digging, planting, and landscaping tasks. These tools are built to handle tough projects where power and control matter most.

Many professional landscapers and DIYers choose USA-made augers by Power Planter & the power and reliability of DEWALT drills. Built with brushless motors, ergonomic designs, and variable speed settings, these drills are engineered to handle demanding tasks across a range of materials and soil conditions.

Choosing the best drill for auger projects depends on your specific needs. A cordless DEWALT drill offers convenience and flexibility, making it a reliable option for working in the yard or on large job sites. For projects requiring longer runtime, DEWALT batteries help maintain power throughout the task. Our collection also includes models commonly used as DEWALT post-hole diggers for fence installation or similar jobs.

PRO TIP: For augers up to 5 inches in diameter, an 18V ½-inch drill with 4Ah or 5Ah batteries is recommended. For larger augers, a 60V DEWALT mud mixing drill offers added stability with features like an E-Clutch and a three-position side handle.

Browse our collection to find the right auger drill for your next project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an adapter to use a Power Planter auger with a DEWALT drill?

Most standard Power Planter augers fit directly into a ½-inch drill chuck without needing an adapter. However, our Tube Drive Heavy Duty augers require an adapter when used with 1-inch shafted post-hole diggers, ½-inch hex drills, or threaded shaft drills. We also now offer a direct drive adapter to fit most direct drive power units as well (link here). Each Tube Drive Heavy Duty auger ships with a ½-inch hex adapter already installed.

PRO TIP: If you plan to use a Stihl® BT45 as your auger drill, add an ‘order note’ at checkout. We’ll swap the hex adapter for a threaded adapter so your auger is ready to use right out of the box.
